Work History
CEO, Spurgeons - April 2005 to June 2014
Tim led Spurgeons on a journey of change and development in response both to internal drivers and a rapdily and constantly changing external landscape. In 2008 he led Spurgeons through a 'big bang', transformative change process based around a new strategy and reliant on significant developments to organisational culture. Since then, despite recession and cuts in public expenditure, Spurgeons has nearly doubled in size and has become a recognised and influential player in the children's services arena.
Head of Oasis Global Action, Oasis Trust - January 1999 - March 2005
Oasis is one of the most creative and innovative charities in the UK. Tim was responsible for developing Oasis UKs work internationally, leading the start up of new work in four countries, doubling the number of staff and volunteers sent abroad and increasing income by 400%.
Senior Programme Officer, World Vision UK - July 1996 - December 1998
Responsible for developing and overseeing programmes across Asia funded by UK and EU statutory and grant making bodies. Engagement in representation and advocacy work in the UK and internationally.
Progamme Manager, Warwick University - September 1988 - July 1995
Developing and managing a research, development and training programme in rural water supplies in Africa. Based initially in the UK and then in Zimbabwe, the programme reached across Africa and received funding from British, German and Australian governments.
During this time also undertook independent consultancy contracts in both relief and development situations across Africa.

Passion & Attributes
Tim's driving passion in life is to see other people flourish - be that his wife, children, friends, colleagues at work or clients. Throughout his career he has chosen to focus on those in society who are in some way disadvantaged or vulnerable and has therefore spent most of his career working in the voluntary sector. A key part of Tim's motivation is his faith - as a passionate follower of the Way of Jesus. Tim's care for people, his desire to see people flourish and justice prevail are all rooted in a deep-seated faith that is the foundation of his values, integrity and approach to life and work.
